Posturology is a science that studies the relationship between body posture and painful pathologies: that is, those physical ailments that express psychological discomfort. Specifically, Clinical Posturology studies the patient's postural tonic system (PTS) through neurophysiological tests.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Posturology is a science that studies the relationship between body posture and painful pathologies: that is, those physical ailments that express psychological discomfort. Specifically, Clinical Posturology studies the patient's postural tonic system (PTS) through neurophysiological tests.

Poor posture affects more than 90% of the population and is the main cause of physical pain. In the long run, an improper body structure can cause diseases such as osteoarthritis, herniated discs, spinal pain, scoliosis, headaches, but also dizziness and difficulty in concentrating. This is why posture analysis is already essential in the pediatric age. A postural examination in childhood can in fact prevent scoliosis, kyphosis, plantar defects, attention disorders, laziness, dyslexia, mouth dysfunction, regurgitation, colic and diarrhea.

The postural tonic system has the function of maintaining our upright position and preserving our balance, both static and dynamic, by adapting to continuous environmental changes. More precisely, the different receptors that make up the PTS have the task of:<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    What does a Postural Examination consists of<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The symptoms that prompt patients to contact me often have a common feature: back pain, dizziness, muscle tension and tingling in the limbs can be functional inconveniences linked to posture and not disorders of structural origin.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    Through a detailed postural examination, I am able to identify the disorder origin in my patient.<\/p>

    To express a correct diagnosis, I investigate the individual\u2019s lifestyle by evaluating risk factors that could compromise correct posture (such as a sedentary lifestyle, hard work or past accidents) and I turn to instrumental examinations:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    • \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tStabilometry (Posturography): examination to evaluate, through an oscillating computerized platform, the body's ability to maintain and regain stability.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
    • \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tVideographic examination: test to check the conformity of body segments by viewing the alterations; it represents the starting point for postural therapy.<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

      Today it\u2019s possible to correct the deficiencies in the physical structure, and the pathologies related to it, through an integrated path of postural reprogramming and global approach therapy. The aim is to reach a new equilibrium in the patient according to the physical, metabolic and psycho emotional entirety. At a posturological level, the therapy modifies the body scheme at the level of the central nervous system by rebalancing the muscle tone.

      In addition to personalizing the therapy, I suggest my patients to follow home exercises in order to stabilize and improve the results achieved during the therapy session. Although it may be the case to refer the patient to a different specialist, experienced and more suitable to solve the problem with regards to the origin.<\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t
